Bats:Both is a baseball-focused blog authored by Jerry Milani and Tom Biro, fans of America’s Pastime who live on opposite coasts of the U.S. – Milani in New Jersey and Biro in Washington State. The name is a twofold bit of humor, as “Bats: Both” is a detail found on some baseball cards, denoting a switch-hitter, and the fact that the blog’s writers live on “both” of the U.S. coasts. Both of us are Yankees fans, and Jerry has been a season ticket holder with some friends for a number of years. Tom will be, for the first time, forced to start paying for the MLB radio service over the Internet for games, rather than being able to tune into the YES Network or the radio, as he moved to Seattle in October of 2009. He’s also scored some nifty weekend plan tickets at Safeco, down near the foul pole, section 213.
Reading the blog, you should expect to see commentary on the latest free agent signings during the off-season, stories about the sport or events related to it, some game recaps, or discussions of what’s news at any given time. Some of it will (hopefully) be intriguing enough that you’ll come back for more, other times we might be hearkening back to the good old days of baseball (whenever that happens to be), but we’ll attempt to keep it entertaining.
